By accessing or using https://washtenawrepublicans.org (the “Website”), signing up for membership, registering for events, making a donation, or opting into text messages, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

2. Use of the Website

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Website or submit any information.
  • You agree not to use the Website for any unlawful purpose or to harass, defame, or impersonate others.

3. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website is owned or licensed by the Washtenaw County Republican Party and protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. Limited fair-use sharing is permitted with proper attribution.

4. Donations (via Anedot)

  • All donations are processed securely through Anedot (https://anedot.com).
  • Donations to the Washtenaw County Republican Party are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
  • By donating, you certify that the contribution is made from your own funds and not from a corporation, labor union, foreign national, or other prohibited source under Michigan or federal law.
  • We are required by law to collect and publicly report name, mailing address, employer, and occupation for contributions that meet or exceed certain thresholds.

5. Membership Sign-Ups, Event Registration, and Text Messaging

  • When you join as a member, register for events, or opt in to receive text messages, you consent to receive emails, calls, and SMS/text messages from the Washtenaw County Republican Party using automated technology.
  • Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP or clicking “unsubscribe” in emails.

6. Volunteer-Run Organization

The Washtenaw County Republican Party is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. All activities are conducted by volunteers.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The Website and all services are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties and shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Website or participation in our programs.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan and applicable federal election laws.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect:

  • Information you voluntarily provide: name, address, phone, email, employer/occupation (required for certain donations), membership details, event RSVPs.
  • Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies, and usage data (via Google Analytics or similar tools).
  • Text messaging identifiers when you opt in.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process donations and comply with Michigan Bureau of Elections and FEC reporting requirements.
  • To manage membership records and communicate with members.
  • To send event invitations, volunteer opportunities, and Republican Party updates.
  • To send text message alerts (only if you opt in).
  • To improve the Website and protect against fraud.

3. Campaign Finance Disclosure (Required by Law)

As a registered county political party committee, we must publicly disclose donor information (name, address, employer, occupation) for contributions above certain amounts on filings with the Michigan Bureau of Elections and/or the FEC. This information becomes publicly available.

4. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only with:

  • Anedot and other necessary third-party vendors (website hosting, email/text services) who are bound by confidentiality.
  • Government agencies as required by Michigan or federal campaign finance laws.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel if applicable, Anedot tracking, etc.) to improve your experience and measure site performance. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

6. Text Messaging

By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring SMS/text messages. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Your Privacy Rights & Choices

  • Unsubscribe from emails or texts at any time.
  • Request access to or deletion of your personal information by contacting us (subject to campaign finance record-keeping requirements).
  • California (CCPA/CPRA) and other state privacy rights: We do not sell your data, but you may still submit requests.

8. Children Under 13

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover such data, we will delete it.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures, but no online system is 100% secure.
